After Camp Message

The thirtieth anniversary of La Semana has drawn to a close. Campers have returned home. Volunteers have relaxed, their jobs complete.  The church is once again serene. The high school auditorium is quiet. We came together to celebrate, and celebrate we did!  I am so grateful to each and every one of you for making La Semana's thirtieth anniversary the  best year ever! Thank you campers! Thank you volunteers!

Watch your email for the camp survey. Tell us what you liked and tell us where we can improve. I know there is room for improvement.  Please don't just tell us what we are doing wrong; tell how we can improve. The survey will go out this month.

Planning is underway for La Semana 2012! Because we are reconsidering our online registration vendor, we have postponed signing up for all but the jobs we need to fill immediately. Our hopes are that our new vendor will provide an easier-to-use camper and adult volunteer registration platform. One way or another, registration for the majority of jobs for 2012 will open this winter.

Watch for improvements to our website, lasemana.org. Expect some remodeling and for us to do a better job at keeping content current and relevant. The website will be the very best place to find information about La Semana. Check back often.

La Semana planning meetings are held monthly and everyone is welcome. The dates, times, location, and agenda will be posted at lasemana.org.

I enjoyed being your Chairperson and working with all of you this past year. I look forward to my second year as your Chair as we work together to advance this great camp, La Semana.

Jim Stromberg
